Codeless Enzyme Testing with Catalyst

Testing is an important part of any application, but can be very repetitive and tedious to do. Utilizing Catalyst, developers are given the ability to quickly generate unit test cases for components using the Jest framework and JavaScript’s Enzyme testing utility without writing a single line of code. Thanks to Catalyst’s simple to use GUI, tests can be created with minimal typing and a few clicks.

Most of us know the scenario. You’re working on a project and you come to the task of writing tests to make sure that your project is working the way it’s intended to. What you are faced with is potentially a lot of time spent writing the same kind of boilerplate code with small variations in key places. Testing is an important part of any application. However, it can be very repetitive and tedious to do. It can be time-consuming and frustrating. There has to be a better way!

Catalyst provides developers the ability to create unit tests for React applications utilizing Jest and JavaScript’s Enzyme testing utility with a few clicks. Catalyst’s interactive GUI allows users to view files and folders while creating tests, create multiple test cases in a single window, and generate previews of all tests before exporting to the desired directory.

The left column allows users to traverse the files within an uploaded project. Users also have the ability to expand and collapse folders as well as the option to view the contents of the files within the column on the right.
