My Grandmother

People always say old people are slow and don’t have as much enthusiasm as everyone else, but that is the opposite of my 82 year old grandmother. She is so much fun to be around and I look up to her as my role model. She has been through so much in her life I am shocked she still does everything she does. She has been in so much physical pain, especially located in her back, for years and that doesn’t stop her or slow her down. With all the procedures she has been through to help the pain she continues to amaze me every day. She cooks, she cleans, she does it all no matter the pain she is in. And whenever anyone tries to help her she doesn’t let us. I wonder everyday how she still does it. I am too lazy to do the dishes after dinner in my house how could she still do it every day. I admire her so much and respect her in ways no one would understand. She is kind, caring, and above all beautiful, even though she doesn’t think she is. She has raised me to be the best person I can be and to not care what others think. One thing I absolutely love about her is that she loves to cram 20 people in her 3 bedroom Cape Cod cottage. Family is so important to me and she has taught me even more about how important it really is. She even bought me and 2 of my cousins dresses with a lobster print on them. When they are in town we all wear the dresses to show her how much they mean to us and she loves it. She finds the small things adorable in life and I absolutely love that about her. So much of me has been shaped by her and I couldn’t have a better role model then her. She smiles even through all the physical pain she bears. I love her with all my heart and I can’t imagine who I would be without her.
