What if movies were produced as crossover collaborations?

There is something mystical about a director’s control and influence over a film. From the minute of its conception, to the first second of the final cut, a director possesses an overwhelming amount of power in creating his or her vision.

But this begs the question — what if films were not singular, but rather a crossover collaboration?

Okay hear us out before you stop reading.

At Epik Prime, our focus since inception has always been in creating new pieces of content through crossovers and collaborations between the world of NFT’s, and the off-chain world of creators, games and entertainment. A perfect example was like how we bridged Chantel Jeffries over to Avakin life to create a new experience, enjoyed by millions around the world.

What if our beloved pastime of watching films were the same?

What if movies were not directed by one person, but rather a series of people? What if a scene was mixed with another movie? This might sound stupid, but please show me 100 authentic and original romantic comedy films. Did you find 100 different ones? No, of course not — because they don’t exist.

We understand that there’d be a challenge in presenting different actors as the same person, physically — but what if that didn’t matter. What if our protagonist (let’s call him Matthew Mcconaughey) went through a film where act 1 was directed by person A, act 2 by person B, and act 3 by person C. This would result in a classic Mcconaughey romcom, but executed by the vision of 3 legendary filmmakers.

Would this count as 1 film, or 3 separate films? One vision, one piece of content? Or multiple?

Once again, while this may seem like a silly question to most, it exemplifies the type of innovative and creative thinking we aim to practice at Epik Prime. Our mission, is to seek out creative talents and IP’s, and find new ways to bridge them with others in the digital world of crypto and NFT. Without this line of thinking, questioning whether or not movies can be a crossover as opposed to a singular vision, we would not be able to innovate as we have done over the last 3 years.

So — what do you think? Is the concept of films as a crossover or collaboration a feasible idea? Hit us up on twitter @EpikPrime and let us know!
