Dance with the sun

Sunk in the low down, heavyweight on the ropes,
dripping salty sweat on the taut skin drum,
as the zebra moves in to kill a lion.

Well, who’s going to be the one to count to ten,
who will be the one to bring this to an end,
who will declare the winner?

For a penny crowd, they beat his brains out,
for a nickel they’d quarter the body,
and for a dime, well no one has that much time.

Sal and Carlos and their piles of cash,
were a sorry sight when it came to the lash
and the gibbet strings were sewn round their wrists.

Will you go another round as the violin plays,
or would you prefer the banjo,
if you dance with the sun, would you tango?
