Communication is Key

In order to work effectively in teams, we need to communicate well.

Communication is arguably the most important aspect in teamwork. We need to communicate with everyone in your team. We need to be able to talk to each other in a productive way.

A key component of communication in teamwork is planning. You need to carefully and clearly communicate with your teammates about who is doing what and when. Everyone needs be on the same page. If people do not communicate well, things can go wrong.

I have been working on my communication skills after thinking about them because of this blog post. I live in a house with three other guys. Things can get very messy and out of control quickly. I thought about how I could improve this. I suggested we all tell each other what we are going to do and when we are going to do it. From chores to eating we began to talk and it made things go much smoother for the “team” as a whole.

Everything is easier when people communicate. From college houses to huge businesses.

Dominic Parisi writes in his blog titled, “Why Communication Is Key In The Business World” that communication skills are necessary in the business world and how we can use them to help us negotiate bette, which is a key component to business.

In the book written by Frank Viscuso, “Step up Your Teamwork” he talks about his experience as a firefighter and how important communication is in that job. He tells a story about how a lack of communication almost left one of his friends dead. His friend was inside of a burning building where he could not see anything. The rest of the team left the building, but he was trapped all alone. He could not see anything and could not be in the building much longer. He had to jump from a 30ft window and almost died. The teams lack of communication almost resulted in death for him.

Learn to communicate well so you do not have to jump out of a 30ft window.
