For the lack of discipline

Who’s fault is it?

Oh discipline, discipline where are you discipline!
On a whimsical vacation, it may seem.

I can’t tell you, how hurtful it is to read your postcards
describing what could have been.

It seems you have found pleasure with someone else
and left me high and dry on the apathy shelf.

It’s true I did hear you whisper that I should.
I needed to know you were truly there before I could.
But still, in hushed tones, you continued to stare
I am now certain you were never mine to share.

So right now, out of exasperation
I am telling you this, I don’t particularly care!

But wait you did promise me the stars, the earth and the sun too
I remember how you seduced me as a moral virtue.

It was just, you asked too much and I couldn’t commit
everyday to give my time and patiently sit.

It’s my bed, I made it, I know that’s true
but I am never really going to openly admit this
You and I know it’s in my interest to blame you.
